How often have you thought about the prospect of requiring some type of long-term care? If you’re like most Americans, you don’t think much about it at all. No one is guaranteed a tomorrow and most people who don’t survive today woke up with the expectation that this was just going to be another day.

1. Taking better care of your health.

2. Slow down.
When we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, we have a tendency to rush from one place to the next. If you have a tendency to speed, weave in and out of traffic, or simply run up and down the stairs far too quickly, slow down. If you reduce the risk of accidents, you reduce the risk of being injured and disabled as a result of them.
3. Keep up with regular doctor visits.
Whether it’s your primary care physician, a hearing specialist, an eye doctor, or other specialist, keep up with these appointments as recommended. The sooner that problems are detected, the more likely there will be viable treatment options to help you avoid the need for long-term care.
